Solution Development |

Translumina develops a number of converged multi-media communication, information and entertainment service solutions. |

These solutions adress the needs of three types of end users, i.e. private users, enterprise users as well as individual professionals such solutions include, for instance, triple play service bundles including Internet access at 100Mbps, quality telephony, digital TV at HD quality and video on demand (VoD) for private users or data/voice VPN bundles for enterprise users. Translumina puts a strong emphasis on operatational and billing support systems in conjunction with the solutions developed:provisiong systems shall allow the setup or reconfiguration of end user subscriptions at finger tips, and billing is the key ingredient to make a business out of multi-media services. Infrastructure |

Once these solutions have been developed, Translumina invests into the implementation of related service provisioning infrastructures. |
|
Translumina sets up server farms, installs software and prepares the networks required to reach the end users. For building these networks Translumina works with a number of partners (see Translumina World), which contribute to related connectivity. Translumina currently owns and operates three major data centers at different locations for hosting the central server farms. This allows Translumina to ensure highest reliability and security through redundancy. |

Solution Operation |

Translumina also operates the solutions developed and installed in its data centers as well as the networks to link to the end users. |

This operation also includes the provisioning of help desk support to assist end users when problems should occur. |

Content Aggregation |
|
Implementing and operating multi-media networks is one thing – providing the end user with related content is the other. |
|
Translumina does both. In particular, Translumina provides telephone numbers and world-wide termination for telephony subscribers, TV content for TV subscribers as well as movie content for video on demand (VoD) users. In particular, Translumina has secured the related content rights. Translumina also holds the required licences to provide lawfully these services. |

Wholesale Provider |

Translumina acts as a wholesale provider of innovative and complex multi-media services. |
|
Translumina designs the solutions and implements and operates the required infrastructures, as illustrated by the figure. To address the resulting services to end users, Translumina works with distribution partners. The services are offered either under Translumina's brand or under the brand of the distribution partners. |

Of course, Translumina covers the huge expenses for the required service and network infrastructure. Translumina, moreover, engages in the financing of fibre to the home (FTTH) and fibre to the building (FTTB) networks (refer to Local Fibre Fund / LFF). And finally, Translumina funds innovative high-tech companies, which contribute their technology to the Translumina's solutions, while securing the related strategic partnerships. |
