Social Projects
The management team and employees of the Translumina Group are grateful to have challenging jobs as well as a good life in a country of great prosperity. Most of them did enjoy a very agreeable childhood and they were lucky to get good education, attend schools and, in some cases, even university.
We do not take this for granted ? we are rather very thankful about our privileged situation.
Therefore, we have decided to commit ourselves to donate a part of our wealth to people, who are not as fortunate as we are and who cannot live a life in such prosperity as we can.
Therefore, we dedicate a part of our revenues to Social Projects as described below.
Our customers may be happy to understand that from each Euro, Franc or Dollar they pay to Translumina, a certain percentage is directly used to help people who really need our support!
Since Translumina is a young company, which does not yet generate huge profits, the management team has decided for the time beeing to invest their own salaries into these Social Projects rather than to divert the earnings of the company.
Goats Project
In Nigeria and Ghana, many children have no chance to enjoy proper school education, since they cannot pay the related tuition fees. Translumina is ready to help here. But we do not directly provide financing, since this may mislead the kids; we rather teach and support them in earning the money they need for a proper school education.
Through our agents in Northern Nigeria and Ghana, we identify children who need such financing support. Once we have identified them, we finance a mother goat, which is pregnant. The kids are not allowed to sell this mother goat nor to kill and eat it. But they are taught to have the mother goat give birth to many kid goats. The children then are taught how to grow the kid goats and to sell them after a while as well as they are allowed to sell the milk taken from the mother goat. The related cashflow generated from this business shall be used for financing the school education.
Many children in Nigeria and Ghana have been able so far to enjoy such (indirect) financing of their school education provided by Translumina
